Ingredients
  

  • 2 ¼ tsp active dry yeast
  • ¾ cup warm water
  • ¼ cup sugar
  • ½ tsp salt
  • ½ cup whole milk
  • 1 large egg
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract
  • 3 ½ –4 cups all-purpose flour
  • 2 tbsp unsalted butter
  • Vegetable oil for frying
  • Vanilla Glaze:
  • 1 cup powdered sugar
  • 2 tbsp milk
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract

Instructions
 

  • Prepare yeast dough and let rise for 1–1.5 hours.
  • Shape into squares and let rise again for 30 minutes.
  • Fry in 350°F oil until golden, about 2–3 minutes per side.
  • Glaze or dust with powdered sugar before serving.
