- 2 ¼ tsp active dry yeast
- ¾ cup warm water
- ¼ cup sugar
- ½ tsp salt
- ½ cup whole milk
- 1 large egg
- 1 tsp vanilla extract
- 3 ½ –4 cups all-purpose flour
- 2 tbsp unsalted butter
- Vegetable oil for frying
- Vanilla Glaze:
- 1 cup powdered sugar
- 2 tbsp milk
- 1 tsp vanilla extract
Prepare yeast dough and let rise for 1–1.5 hours.
Shape into squares and let rise again for 30 minutes.
Fry in 350°F oil until golden, about 2–3 minutes per side.
Glaze or dust with powdered sugar before serving.
